Hello MaduCarers! MaduCare Inc visited Omofo Ndele Rivers state, a highly underserved area in the south-south region of Nigeria. Our goal during this outreach was to provide ACCESS to hope, healing and wellness to a very challenging and rural area with limited access to health care and wellness infrastructure. In collaboration with the University of Port Harcourt Graduate Students' Christian Fellowship and working with some excellent physicians from the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital(UPTH), we setup a primary care day clinic, a make shift pharmacy and through the tireless effort of our team, we provided health screening, diagnostics and treated a broad patient demographic from infants to the elderly, all for FREE. We also educated the population on holistic and sustainable ways to live and thrive in their community, with a strong emphasis on disease prevention and health maintenance. As part of our outreach, we also provided hundreds of anti mosquito sleeping nets as malaria continues to be a public health crisis in this region. Most importantly, we listened. With love and empathy, we listened to their challenges, providing a source of hope to this beautiful but struggling community. Access to healthcare continues to be a life vs. death issue in some of these regions, and although the need is great, we were able to help at the least, over 350 indigenes! A big thank you to the physicians from UPTH, the Graduate Students Christian Fellowship, our COO(Africa), Mr. C. Maduka and our new community liaison Mr. C. Dike for their tireless efforts. The challenge is great, but our commitment is greater. We will continually work to improve the lives of our target population, helping them live and thrive in their individual communities.
Thank you MaduCarers for your continued love and support. For more info on how to volunteer, donate or join, follow the link here on www.maducare.org. You can also reach us on our various social media platforms.
